Background Inquiry:

TCS Education System provides a safe working and academic environment for all staff, faculty, and students. As such, TCS Education System and its affiliates require prospective employees to take part in our investigative inquiry process, a common practice for employment in higher education. Please note that information gathered via the investigative inquiry will remain confidential and you will be notified prior to any background inquiry being conducted
As of the 2005-2006 academic year, TCS Education System requires an investigative background inquiry. Providing information for the background inquiry is a condition of employment at TCS Education System and its affiliates. Information retrieved from this inquiry will be used to determine if an individual has any criminal history. Information collected will also include name, address history, and social security number. The purpose of the background inquiry is to protect staff, faculty, students, from harm and their confidential information from misuse, and in certain circumstances to comply with state and federal laws. Background checks into criminal history will not be required until after a conditional offer of employment. A conviction will not necessarily result in the denial of employment. TCS Education System and its affiliates do not require disclosure of sealed or expunged records of conviction or arrest.
Additionally, certain positions with access to organization and/or student financial information require an investigative credit inquiry as a condition of employment. Information gathered during the credit inquiry will be used to determine if an individual has been involved in illegal financial activities or credit-related lawsuits. The purpose of the credit inquiry is to protect the financial assets of the organization, staff, faculty, and students.
