Research Analyst

Location: Sydney, NSW

We are looking for intellectually curious and quantitatively oriented team players to join our tightly knit, ambitious and growing Sydney office. Brattle offers a diverse, stimulating and collegial environment, where you will work side-by-side with internationally renowned experts in finance and economics. Our comprehensive Graduate Program begins with a weeklong training at our headquarters in Boston (USA). Here you will learn to efficiently build models, write code, and tackle complex problems, all while developing an international network of like-minded peers through activities like scavenger hunts, dinner cruises and much more! Training and development at Brattle is continuous with ongoing courses in topics like computer programming and current industry issues.

From day one as a Research Analyst (RA) at Brattle, you will participate in project teams with senior consulting staff and leading international experts. You will have an opportunity to support our Principals and Academic Advisors as they serve as expert witnesses before courts and arbitration panels on behalf of some of the largest and most successful law firms and corporations worldwide, in addition to numerous public and government agencies in the United States, Europe, Australia, Asia, and elsewhere.

A typical day in the life of a Brattle Research Analyst includes:

  • Adapting economic theory to apply to real life questions and problems

  • Analyzing companies and markets

  • Building financial, economic and operational models

  • Conducting statistical analyses and running regressions

  • Providing in-depth research and communicating with project team members at all levels

An ideal Brattle Research Analyst will possess:

  • An undergraduate degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g. economics, math, finance, engineering, etc.) with strong academic performance.

  • Great team skills – our project work is done almost exclusively in teams and it is critical that Research Analysts work well with others.  A good sense of humor is always welcome!

  • Intellectual curiosity and quickness – we are not just looking for students who do well in coursework, but for those who consistently want to learn/know more and who approach problems with creativity.

  • A high degree of ownership and commitment – successful Research Analysts are committed to doing what it takes to get things right and take ownership of their work.

We are seeking Research Analysts to work in our Sydney office who are available to start immediately or upon their graduation from university.
