Receptionist/Level I Administrative Assistant

Location: Washington, DC



The Brattle Group is seeking a motivated and flexible individual with strong customer service skills for a full-time Receptionist/Level I Administrative Assistant to support the staff in our Washington, D.C. office which is conveniently located outside of Dupont Circle and is metro accessible via the red, orange, blue, and silver lines.

The person in this role works with the administrative team in the areas of reception coverage, file maintenance, catering/meeting set up, and other general administrative needs. This position reports to the DC Business Support Services Manager.

Some of the day-to-day responsibilities of this role include:

  • Reception desk coverage
  • Maintain all office related documents (e.g., New Employee and Visitor Guides, phone lists, office information, etc.)
  • Conference room set-up and clean-up, including placing catering orders and assisting with webinars
  • Maintain tidy and presentable reception area
  • Conference room calendar management
  • Federal Express, USPS, courier support
  • Track travel and meeting itineraries
  • Expedite incoming and outgoing deliveries as requested
  • Prepare new employee packets
  • Prepare expense reports for consultants as requested
  • Serve as back-up to the facilities coordinator with office support as needed
  • Support on special projects, as needed


The position requires strong organizational, time management, and communication skills, as well as the ability to handle numerous projects and deliverables.

Other requirements include:

  • One to three years of corporate administrative experience
  • Associate’s Degree preferred
  • Exceptional customer service skills and a strong willingness to provide excellent service
  • Proficiency in Outlook; working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Effective management of time
  • A friendly and cheerful attitude
  • Proactive demeanor and a willingness to work in a collegial team environment
  • Ability to exercise appropriate judgment
  • Acute attention to detail and ability to produce aesthetically pleasing, error-free work
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary
  • Occasional travel may be required
