The Data Solutions group is a specialized team within Entercom corporate that serves as the data management technology experts.

The Director, Data Platforms, will be responsible for applying expertise in how data and technology can impact the business through better data driven decisions. This role will be responsible for setting vision, developing and implementing data governance by which Entercom, manages, analyzes and governs data. The role will directly contribute valuable perspective to key business decisions based on a comprehensive understanding across business units, the competitive environment, and challenges/opportunities as it relates to data management. This role will report to the corporate Vice President of Audience and Data.

Key responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Lead and inspire a team of direct and indirect reports to develop data management and governance aligned with and guided by sales, marketing and corporate business priorities and strategies

  • Manage data as strategic asset and ensure Entercom has easier & quick access to quality data for use in all data driven decision making

  • Set a clear vision and purpose for the Enterprise Data Strategy and Management team based on the priorities and needs of the Enterprise 

  • Be an in-house expert on how Data and Platforms can provide ROI for clients

  • Understand how platform/data technologies work and offer the ability to explain in ordinary terms (be technically savvy - understand the opportunities and limitations)

  • Identify opportunities – industry learning, meet with vendors and provide a POV, with a client lens and in desired format -- education/evangelize the findings

  • Oversee relationship with DMP (Data Management Platform) and Mar/Ad Tech Solutions

  • Drive data strategy and integration into media plans focused on audience details

  • Share knowledge with teams regarding audience insights and results to impact business needs

  • Build and maintain relationships with audience data partners and agency counterparts

  • Develop a strong partnership with the business units and ensure the right use of data and maximize the return on investments in the data assets

  • Foster personal development, employee engagement and enhanced organizational culture that stimulates the professional growth of all direct/indirect reports

  • Managing the process of defining audiences to be leveraged, sharing of data with partners, and tracking and compiling performance reports regarding audience groups

  • Maintaining knowledge of current DMP/Programmatic media trends and provide training to employees and clients when necessary.

  • Staying apprised of new and emerging technology, creative and programming applications for potential use for clients and drive innovation with partners

 

Qualifications:

  • B.S. or MBA, preferably in Marketing, Advertising, or Data Science required

  • 8 years’ experience in data management and governance on the business side of an organization required

  • 3+ years of people managing experience required

  • Working knowledge of DMPs/CRM/ DSPs/SSPs preferred

  • Subject matter expert on third party audience data preferred

  • Experience analyzing data and market research preferred

  • Strong leadership, guiding cross functional staff required

  • The ability to present complex contently simply to senior clients or internal stakeholders required

  • Experience managing multiple, competing priorities, duties and/or projects preferred

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written communication, and presentation skills preferred

  • Ability to lead projects independently from start to finish, working with internal and external teams to make decisions and maintain forward momentum preferred
