Description

A US-based international company that is in the business of facilitating travel visas, and is the leader in its segment, is looking to engage a User Experience Designer in a body of work that revolves around the company's goal of replacing legacy, customer-facing PDF forms with online forms in a highly functional user flow. 

This project is getting off the ground now, and we are ready to involve a user experience designer right away. However, we can wait until January 2018 to onboard the right person, if current availability is an issue. Work will be ongoing through the first half of 2018. All work can be done remotely, but there will likely be requests for occasional in-person visits for meetings at the company's world headquarters in the Tyson's Corner, VA area. We are encouraging all relevantly qualified individuals to apply, but we are most interested in engaging someone who is in the Mid-Atlantic region. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
We are looking to identify an individual who has at two years of consistent, professional user experience design experience. Ideal applicants will be able to clearly demonstrate through portfolio examples, that they have done exactly the type of work which will be required. The level of relevancy and quality of sample work provided, and depth of highly applicable experience demonstrated in applicant credentials will drive our decision making process. We are most interested in seeing examples of the type of work listed below, any/all of which will be more useful than a terrific looking yet otherwise not highly relevant portfolio mix. 

* E-commerce transaction flows
* Before/after examples of general user experience flows that you improved
* Before/after examples of work you did to replace PDF or other forms with live online forms that include multiple levels and multiple fields

DESIRED ATTRIBUTES:
* Meticulous attention to detail.
* Adaptable, flexible and open to rapid iteration.
* Keenly aware of deadlines and able to manage time accordingly.
* Excited to share and have your work critiqued.

LOCATION:
All work can be done remotely (i.e. at your home office). But as noted above, there will likely be requests for occasional in-person visits for meetings at the company's world headquarters in the Tyson's Corner, VA area. This location is highly accessible via Metrorail and Metrobus, and also close to the Beltway and other major commuter routes.

DURATION:
We can best define this project as "ongoing" as it does not have a defined start and end date. As noted above, the project is getting off the ground now, and we are ready to involve a user experience designer right away. However, we can wait until January 2018 to onboard the right person, if current availability is an issue. We expect that work will be ongoing through the first half of 2018. Additionally, some individuals whom we have placed with this employer previously, have continued working with them on projects above and beyond the one originally assigned. 

PAY RATE:
Brainstorm Creative Resources often recommends hourly rate ranges in job descriptions. Sometimes we are not well versed enough re: current rates for particular segments, to firmly determine ranges prior to talking with candidates. That is the case here. We will share that we have supported the client company for more than three years, and they have always enabled us to pay highly competitive rates to enlist great people on their projects. Additionally, we have paid experienced User Experience Designers between $60/hour and $110/hour on projects for a wide variety of clients during the last year. All rates that might eventually be offered, will be based on demonstrable experience and will be competitive within the metro-Washington, DC area.
