Motion Designer .:. production studio (Contract work / flexible hours)

Location: DC-Washington
Company Order Number: 1384
# of openings: 1

Brainstorm Creative Resources is supporting a full service media production firm with offices located just west of Georgetown in Washington, DC, that is looking to engage one or more talented motion graphics designers on a range of projects continuing through mid-November.

We're interested in hearing from individuals whose availability for on-site work ranges from a lot to a little. Are you looking to supplement your regular workflow with occasional projects? Let us know. Are you ideally seeking full-time work for the next few months? We're interested in hearing from you. Bottom-line: If you can share great examples of your motion design and production work with us, our client will want to talk with you.

The hiring firm is looking to engage someone who is technically proficient, creatively ambitious, hard working, and an enthusiastic team player. We're ideally looking to talk with designers who have worked at the Senior Designer or Art Director level. All applicants should be fully versed in collaborating with a creative team and capable of working independently to produce top notch work.

Brainstorm Creative Resources has worked closely with the client firm since 2010, and we go back even further with the firm's owner. We will gladly provide plenty of additional information regarding the organization, to the most well qualified applicants.

* Minimum 3 years of ongoing professional experience working as a Motion Designer or similar
* Experience working at the Senior Designer or Art Director level is preferred
* Deep, demonstrable experience creating motion graphics in After Effects
* Proficiency working on non-linear editing platforms (Premiere, Avid, FCP)
* Interactive or print design experience would be great, but is not required
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative production environment
* Team player, proactive, entrepreneurial
* A sense of humor and a genuine love for what you do

* A legitimately fun and collaborative work environment filled with genuinely happy people
* Easily accessible from DC, MD and VA

As indicated elsewhere in this job description, we're more focused on identifying one or more truly talented motion graphics designers -- and less focused on logistics. Our client may want to engage designers on some smaller projects and there is also a good chance that there will be opportunities for mid-term to long stretches of consistent on-site work, if we're fortunate to identify great designers offering this type of availability. Our client's workplace is just west of Georgetown University and is accessible via Metrobus, but not directly via Metrorail. There is non-metered street parking nearby.

Brainstorm Creative Resources is suggesting a broad pay rate range of $50/hour - $100/hour. The actual rate offered will be commensurate with experience and market norms. Brainstorm Creative Resources strives to pay competitively, and we offer full rate transparency. We'll tell you what we're billing the client, and they'll know what we're paying you. It is unlikely (but not impossible) that we'll be able to pay early career applicants near the top of the stated salary range. Alternatively, highly experienced professionals whose resumes indicate substantial experience and who provide excellent sample work, can expect that we'll make a strong case to our client, to pay you at or near the top of the range.

Brainstorm Creative Resources is a recruiting and staffing firm that has been focused on placing creative and editorial professionals into freelance and full-time positions with Washington, DC-area employers since 2003.
