A highly influential broadcast media enterprise with a national audience is looking to develop a working relationship with a consultant marketing/advertising copywriter, who can begin supporting the organization immediately in a part-time capacity. We're ideally looking to identify an individual who can work on-site in Washington, DC. But the buyer, who is the client organization's Creative Director for Marketing & Branding, has indicated that he will also be glad to talk with experienced copywriters who want to work from home.
Brainstorm Creative Resources has worked closely with the client organization to fill several temporary and project-oriented roles over the last six months, and we have supported the buyer for nearly ten years on a wide variety of recruiting and staffing projects.
The Copywriter works with designers and marketers on the conceptual development and execution of the organization's strategic and creative marketing and branding efforts. S/he helps articulate and defend the voice, position and tone for the brand and sub-brands, including on-air programs, digital products, consumer products, donor communications, and events.
The Copywriter comes up with big, bold ideas and sees them through from conception to completion. S/he creates multi-platform concepts, headlines, and copy for integrated ad campaigns, native advertising, websites, videos, blogs, digital direct marketing, social media efforts, identity design, merchandise, and collateral. This position could be involved in naming new programs and initiatives, and collaborating on large-scale creative projects with external agencies, affiliated stations, and freelancers.
(1) A minimum of three years of ongoing, professional experience working in roles with titles that clearly communicate you were hired to write pursuasive marketing and/or advertising copy.
(2) A portfolio that showcases:

-- Solid examples of print, identity, collateral, digital and video work.
-- Long and short-form writing excellence.
-- An ability to write for different audiences.
-- An ability to concept and collaborate on multiple campaigns and projects in parallel.
-- You understand the possibilities and limitations of digital (web and app) development.
-- An ability to quickly and carefully edit and punch up existing copy.
-- You excel at finding creative solutions to problems without a lot of hand-holding.
-- An appreciation for and understanding of strategy as the backbone of creative work.
-- Strong organizational skills and an extreme attention to detail.
-- Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and public speaking skills.
-- A proven ability to work effectively on a team of diverse individuals.
-- Experience working closely with art directors and/or designers.
-- A strong command of MS Office Suite.

HOURS / LOCATION:
As indicated elsewhere in this job description, we're ideally looking to identify an individual who can work on-site in Washington, DC. But the buyer, who is the client orgnanization's Creative Director for Marketing & Branding, has indicated that he will also be glad to talk with experienced copywriteers who wants to work from home.
The buyer has not indicated a minimum or maximum number of work hours per week. They will need help throughout the next two months, and we are looking to recommend the most well qualified writers who inquire with us and can offer availability of at least ten hours/week (again, at-home or on-site).
The client organization's national headquarters offices and studios are a short walk from Union Station in Washington, DC.
Brainstorm Creative Resources is offering a broad pay rate range of between $35/hour and $70/hour. The actual rate offered will be commensurate with experience and market norms. Brainstorm Creative Resources strives to pay competitively. However, it is unlikely (but not impossible) that we will be able to pay early career applicants near the top of the stated salary range. Alternatively, highly experienced copywriting professionals whose resumes indicate substantial experience, and whose portfolios include many examples of work produced for a wide range of end-user clients, can expect that we will make a strong case to our client, to pay you at or near the top of the range.
