Senior Bridge Project Manager

Description

DEA’s Salem, OR office is hiring a Senior Bridge Project Manager to provide a lead managerial and technical role on bridge design and design build projects.  A successful candidate will lead project teams in the preparation of Advance Planning Studies, Structure Type Selection Reports, and final design, plans, specifications, and estimates.  Typical bridge projects will include cast-in-place post-tensioned concrete, reinforced concrete, precast concrete, segmental concrete, and steel girder bridges; retaining walls; and sound walls.

In addition the candidate must have project management experience with medium to large sized conventional (design-bid-build) and alternative delivery (design-build, CM/GC) projects.  The qualified candidate must have a proven track record of business development and client management to become a trusted advisor to clients they have worked with.   

Other duties include:

  • Communicate with client and express client needs to project team
  • Serve as a pursuit champion on identified projects
  • Serve as a client manager and trusted advisor
  • Be a part of the DEA Design Build task for helping track and make decisions on projects to pursue
  • Work closely with the business development manager, region marketing manager, client managers, project managers, and client development teams to support business development and marketing pursuits
  • For projects being managed, prepare and monitor work plan, scope, schedule, and budget
  • Ensure resources are available to complete existing project work as well as work committed to in proposals
  • Manage project team communications
  • Demonstrated ability to develop staff, gain support from multiple stakeholders, and deliver superior results

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent experience in Structural Engineering
  • 10+ years of bridge engineering experience
  • At least 5 years of related project management experience
  • Registered Professional Engineer in Oregon
  • Experience working on design-build delivery projects
  • Demonstrated ability to develop staff, gain support from multiple stakeholders, and deliver superior results
  • Knowledge of AASHTO and Oregon DOT bridge design standards
