Senior Project Manager

Description

DEA's Tacoma, WA office is looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead the permitting of transportation projects, specifically rail projects.  As a Senior Project Manager, the responsibilities will include scope/fee preparation, client coordination, field/office staff and subconsultant coordination, and permitting approach/schedule development.  .  Clients include Local, State and Federal Government entities as well as private sector.

Other responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Management of environmental, land use, and other permitting support for transportation projects
  • Coordination of the work of scientists, archeologists, and other professionals who prepare permitting support documentation
  • Development of DEA’s permitting support line of business for freight railroads
  • Ability to work in a highly flexible, team-oriented environment with individual responsibilities for internal and customer deliverables and schedule.
  • Ability to travel to project sites and client offices across the central and western United States.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in environmental science, biology, or related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience related to permitting.
  • Experience overseeing environmental resource disciplines such as biology archeology
  • Significant experience with Federal, State, and local agency coordination
  • Recent project experience with freight railroad clients and projects
  • Excellent organizational, oral, written and analytical skills are required, as well as an ability to manage multiple tasks and to travel as needed for projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience performing field work in one of the typical disciplines
