Job Description OVERVIEW:
The selected candidate will perform in-depth forensics examinations of computers and other electronic devices. The investigator uses a variety of digital forensics tools to conduct forensic examination activities including assisting in the analysis of network, computer and other devices which may contain digital evidence.


EDUCATION Requirements:  
   * Bachelors Degree + 7 through 10 years of experience as a computer forensics/ computer crime investigator  
   * Additional equivalent experience in related field in lieu of degree will be considered.


REQUIRED Skills and Knowledge: 
   • A successful candidate will also have counterintelligence (CI) and analytical experience
   • Additional experience in lieu of degree may be considered 
   • The applicant should have knowledge in the proper use of computer forensics and security compliance tools 
   • The applicant should have knowledge of modern Windows Server platforms and desktop operating systems, as well as general understanding of respective file system internals
   • Applicants should have experience finding, retrieving, analyzing, preserving, and maintaining digital information from computers and network equipment
   • The applicant should also have experience maintaining "chain of custody" by following standard rules of digital evidence 
   • The candidate should have an in-depth working knowledge in DOD and IC intelligence regulations, be familiar with intelligence oversight
principles, must possess superior writing and briefing skills, and be capable of providing polished analysis documentation 
   • The candidate must possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of foreign adversaries' security and intelligence services, terrorist organizations, and cyber threats they pose to DoD and IC partners
   • Must be willing to perform shift work


LABOR CATEGORY QUALIFICATIONS: 
   • Perform in-depth forensics examinations of computers and other electronic devices. 
   • Must possess and maintain Encase certification as a computer forensics examiner. 
   • Possess experience conducting computer forensics analysis and/or investigations within the Department of Defense and/or Intelligence Community.
   • Knowledgeable of CI investigations and law enforcement law enforcement community.
   • Experience briefing results to senior staff; 
   • Knowledge and understanding of foreign adversaries security and intelligence services, terrorist organizations, and cyber threats they pose to DoD and IC partners.
   • Collaborate with internal and external intelligence community partners to both share and gather technical threat information to enhance forensics examinations. 
   • Integrate information from forensics examinations and compile results into reports as required. Prepare and presents forensic findings in the form of briefings and/or reports, to government leads and managers as required. 
   • Participate in Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DOD) technical exchange and collaboration meetings as required. 
   • Effectively utilize all applications and commonly used analytic software tools (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Analyst Notebook, etc.). 
   • Must be willing to perform shift work. 
   • Produce detailed forensics reports as required
   • Provide support to all mission functions as required
   • Deliver briefings as required 
   • Collaborate as required
