Information Systems Security Engineer - Senior Level (Sr. ISSE)

Location: Ft. Meade, Maryland

POSITION:  Information Systems Security Engineer - Senior Level  (Sr.ISSE)
LABOR CATEGORY: Senior Information Systems Security Engineer
LOCATION: Ft. Meade, Maryland

​The individual selected for this position must have the following types of skills: Sr. level experience working with the NIST 800.53, NIST RMF and XACTA. This person must have Sr. level experience with the Linux operating environment including basic Linux hardening/CS2 hardening security techniques. Must be familiar with LINUX vulnerability testing techniques and must be familiar with client-server system security architecture and security assessment techniques. Familiarity with the Certification and Accreditation processes utilized within NSA and JWICS. Have familiarity with red team and blue team requirements, procedures and reporting responsibilities.  Must have excellent writing and verbal communication skills.   

 • Required - Shall have eight (8) years integrating information assurance disciplines into the system design, development, integration, and implementation.
 • Desired - Experience identifying Information Protection needs and define System Security Requirements; designing System Security Architecture; developing detailed Security Designs (including system security certifications and project evaluations).
 • Desired - Experience with Defense in Depth principles and technology including access/control, authorization, Identification and authentication, public key infrastructure, network, and enterprise security architecture.
 • Desired - Experience developing security plans for employing enterprise-wide security architecture.
 • Desired - Experience assessing and auditing network penetration testing antivirus planning assistance, risk analysis and incident response.
 • Desired - Demonstrated experience applying security risk assessment methodology to system development, including threat model development, vulnerability assessments, and resulting security risk analysis.
 • Desired - Experience developing systems that process information with different classifications and categories that simultaneously permits access by users with different security clearances and denies access to users who lack authorization.
 • Desired - Experience in evaluating project needs, determining tasks and durations and allocating resources.
 • Desired - Knowledge of design and implementation of trusted relationships among external agency systems and architectures.

EDUCATION: Degree must be in Communications, Computer Science, Mathematics, Accounting, Information Systems, Program Management, or similar degree will be considered as a technical field)
 • Masters Degree in Computer Science + 4 years
 • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science + 8 years
 • or NO Degree + 10 years work experience 

 • Desired - Experience in the implementation of cross domain solutions (e.g. an information assurance solution that provides the ability to manually and/or automatically access and/or transfer between two or more differing security domains).
 • Desired - Knowledge of Federal, NSA, IC and DoD Information Security regulations, publications, and policy.
 • Desired - Knowledge of the NSA/CSS Information System Certification and Accreditation Process (NISCAP).
