Job Description OVERVIEW:
The selected candidate must have the ability to investigate and adjudicate government security clearances. Applicants must have experience in all facets of personnel security (i.e., case management, interview techniques, resolution of derogatory information, development of interrogatories) and demonstrated knowledge and experience of the adjudication function. 

   - Perform quality security file reviews of personnel security investigation actions and supporting documentation, file maintenance (including purging, imaging and archiving), data base entry, quality control of investigations, conduct National Agency Checks, as well as coordinate with DoD and IC security organizations. 
   - Manage and track personnel security investigations from initiation through final completion of the clearance phase. 
   - Assist with Record of Investigation (ROI) and provide recommendations for granting/denying security clearances. 
   - Maintain NGA information for DCII, JPAS, Scattered Castles, and related databases. 
   - Ability to apply working knowledge of federal Executive Orders 10450, 12968, and 12958; Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Privacy Act (PA); EPSQ/EQIP and Questionnaire for National Security Position (SF-86). 


EDUCATION Requirements:  
   * Bachelor's Degree + 3 years experience
   * No Degree + 7 years

   * with minimum 1 year of experience in security with particular emphasis on personnel security and/or adjudications within the Department of Defense and/or Intelligence Community.


DUTIES:
   - (U) Provide service excellence in listening, understanding, and providing security response, guidance and resolution to the customer’s questions and inquiries.
   - (U) Recommend to the customer proper classification/protection of national security data.
   - (U) Brief, process, and schedule external requests for polygraphs, clearances, debriefs, and background investigations.
   - (U) Create and maintain the polygraph examination scheduling process, maintain metrics of appointments and “no shows”.
   - (U) Provide customer liaison with all levels of customers to include NGA and external customer base.  
   - (U) Provide telephone and written status checks, including checks of internal and external personnel security databases.  
   - (U) Familiar with personnel security databases (e.g., DCII, JPAS, and Scattered Castles).


REQUIRED SKILLS:
Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills as well as possess overall maturity and professionalism. 
Teamwork and the willingness to collaborate with others is a must. 

DESIRED SKILLS:
Specific experience with adjudication of government security clearances and knowledge of databases such as Scattered Castles, JPAS, and DCII as well as Microsoft are desirable.
