Under general supervision; operate, control and maintain turbine generator units and auxiliary equipment in hydroelectric power generating stations, to test, troubleshoot, install, repair and maintain electrical control systems and equipment in hydroelectric power generating operations. 


  • Operate, control and monitor hydroelectric generating units and pond levels to comply with regulatory needs while maximizing generation efficiency.
  • Test, troubleshoot and coordinate or perform repair of electrical or mechanical operational issues.
  • Utilize Maintenance Detection Routes to efficiently perform preventative maintenance to electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Ensure Operational Compliance and Environmental accountability at all facilities. 
  • Perform site checks and record data of site specific requirements.  
  • Assists with various regulatory and dam safety inspections and audits.
  • Work in a safe manner in accordance with company EH&S policy, Roadmap Program and OSHA standards.
  • Work irregular hours and respond to call outs, plus on-call responsibility 24/7.  



  • Graduation from high school or GED required.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in hydroelectric operations or (2) years’ experience working in hydro industry in areas of civil/electrical/mechanical trades.
  • Knowledge in standard principles, methods, practices, systems, tools and equipment used to operate, monitor and control hydroelectric generating units.
  • Possession of a current, valid driver’s license issued by the state of residence.


  • Part-time position: +/- 20 hours / week
