OVERVIEW

 

The Corporate Business Analyst, Supply Management – Transportation & Logistics will support the Corporate Director, Supply Management – Transportation & Logistics by providing various analyses as well as relevant and timely information. He or she will also be the first point of contact for internal clients, external suppliers, and government regulators (e.g. customs) regarding any problems or issues.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Create, maintain and analyze logistics dashboard and reporting tools and act based on established KPIs:
    • Analyze the company’s various distribution costs and suggest actions to reduce transportation costs and secure equipment capacity.
    • Responsible for the optimization and coordination of the transportation monitoring system (TMS).
    • Analyze various means of transportation and provide most advantageous option for inbound and/or outbound movements.
    • Responsible for evaluating carrier performance and bringing problem areas to the attention of the concerned division.
  • Assist with legwork related to requests for proposals (RFPs) and any commercial agreements.
  • Liaise closely with all divisions’ sales force, CSR group and mills’ Shipping Departments for various transportation-related matters or problems.
  • Troubleshoot customs and CTPAT (customs trade partnership against terrorism) issues, maintain contact with customs broker.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in transportation logistics or supply management,
  • DEC in a relevant field
  • Advanced capabilities in Excel (vlookup and pivot tables)
  • Experience with an ERP (JDE and/or SAP particularly) considered an asset
  • Experience with a transportation monitoring system an asset
  • Bilingual (clients and suppliers in Quebec, rest of Canada, and US)
