Description

SBC Advertising is currently seeking a motivated self-starter to fill the role of Public Relations Director. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 8 years of progressive PR experience, with strong strategic thinking, leadership and communications skills in both B2B and B2C industries.


Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate deep understanding of client brands and communication goals; understands market position and competitive set
  • Identify media influentials and employ appropriate utilization of such
  • Identify and establish key relationships with high-level decision makers with prospective clients
  • Provide the highest caliber of client service and executive level counsel
  • Independently run accounts; develop and execute strategic programs and initiatives; build and manage budgets and client profitability to annual goals
  • Guide overall media strategy and campaigns; manage social media campaigns including monitoring, placement, and reporting; maintain and build relationships with the press
  • Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary team within agency
  • Mentor junior associates and assist with intern management
  • Help build PR demand and scale department accordingly
  • Support agency internal PR needs as requested
  • Act as an industry news maven and thought leader; attend networking events

 Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in public relations, communications, journalism or related studies required
  • 6-8 years in B2B and B2C public relations, or media relations, and 3+ years of agency experience preferred
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, YouTube Twitter)
  • Proven ability to develop and execute programs that have met and/or exceeded stated metrics and analytics
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills – preferably with a strong AP writing style
  • Must be detail-oriented, organized and able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and manage large work flow within time constraints
  • Excellent collaborator and ability to work as a team player are critical
  • Ability to travel periodically
