Job Description: Digital Project Manager


Position Summary

The Project Manager for Bonnier’s Digital Department is responsible for ensuring that the digital projects related to our platform development are satisfied within scope, budget and schedule. This is to be accomplished through the utilization of a defined methodology established and supported by the Project Management Office (PMO) within Digital Operations.

This position reports to the Sr Director, Digital Products & Services and is located in Winter Park, FL.


While all of the following are important and applicable, in support of agile software development, the Project Manager will be expected to value:

  • Working software over comprehensive documentation.

  • Customer collaboration over contract negotiation.

  • Responding to change over following a plan.

A Project Manager has the following responsibilities:


  • Adept in the application and management of agile development practices.

  • Knowledge of Web content management systems (CMS).

  • Basic understanding of industry standard web analytics and metrics tools.

  • Ensures that projects produce quality deliverables that will support the business needs.

  • Consults with management and business areas and reviews program or project proposals to determine development effort, time frames, and allotment of resources.

  • Ensures project progress is on schedule and tracked. Prepares and modifies burndowns, schedules, deliverables, and resources.

  • Provides daily and weekly statuses. Consistently and willingly provides necessary and appropriate documentation

  • Manages the project to meet deliverables using sound business judgment.

  • Recognizes and manages changes in project scope and time.

  • Demonstrates project leadership experience.

  • Sets and manages expectations to project stakeholders and the project team.

  • Leads the project team to identify and resolve underlying causes of the problems.

  • Serves as a good communicator, listener, and motivator with solid people management and team building skills.

  • Serves as a good negotiator who understands and follows defined processes.

  • Maintains a high degree of self-motivation, commitment, and integrity; proactive vs. reactive.

  • Shows flexibility and discipline in providing results.

  • Manages multiple projects

  • Demonstrates knowledge of information technologies.

Desired qualifications:

  • Possesses a bachelor’s degree in journalism, computer science, business, or an analytical field, or equivalent experience.

  • Possesses solid project management skills and has the ability to multitask using sound business skills.

  • Possesses a minimum of three years in applications development.

  • Experience in developing, implementing and managing digital content initiatives, including the measuring and analysis of key audience metrics.

  • Familiarity with digital content consumption principles per channel (and the ability to adapt/ignore them as dictated by data).

  • Willingness to be continually learning the latest platforms, technology tools
