PRN/Per Diem Pharmacy Technician
Methodist Hospital-Gary, Northlake, IN

You’ll assist in various pharmacy activities, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, and other duties not requiring the review of a pharmacist.  The majority of tasks and responsibilities are related to preparing, dispensing, and distributing medications.  Other duties include maintaining patient records, and setting up, packaging, and labeling of medication doses and billing.  You will perform job duties under minimal supervision within pharmacy standards, written procedures and guidelines, and state regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for the accurate completion of daily activities and the follow through of tasks to ensure completion.  This position has no regularly scheduled hours and provides coverage day and evening shift coverage on an as needed basis during the week and weekends.  Based upon business needs, you may be scheduled to work at the Southlake campus in Merrillville as well.


•         Certified pharmacy technician with IN licensure
•         Previous pharmacy technician work experience (in a hospital setting strongly preferred)
•         Effective verbal and written communication skills
