Position description:

Sr. Manager, Supply Chain Finance & Accounting will manage all aspects of inventory accounting, reporting and planning while providing financial, analytical and strategic support for the Global Operations organization in a dynamic, integrated pharmaceutical company with two commercial product lines.  This highly collaborative accounting and financial business partner role will work closely with cross-functional partners across the Company including the Finance & Accounting, Supply Chain, Trade Operations, Commercial and IT teams.  The position reports to the Corporate Controller and will work closely with the Director of FP&A and Head of Supply Chain.

This is a great opportunity for a highly-motivated individual to shape a new position to support the Company’s growth and maturing infrastructure.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

Financial Analysis and Business Partner Support 

  • Manage the financial planning process for the Global Operations organization including the annual operating plan, forecasts and monthly variances to actuals using BPC (SAP)
  • Engage in sales and operational planning; collaborate with Commercial, Trade Operations and Supply Chain teams and ensure organizational alignment
  • Construct financial business models and provide decision support for Supply Chain activities such as take or pay, buy vs. build and other NPV and payback scenarios; support business development opportunities
  • Assess commercial manufacturing and operational efficiencies; evaluate alternatives to drive improved business performance (margin analysis, CMO supply contracts, RFPs)

 

Accounting

  • Finance lead for the implementation of inventory-related modules of Company’s ERP system (SAP) and subsequent finance ownership of such modules

  • Ownership of all inventory, product COGS and other COGS accounting and reporting activities

  • Develop and maintain all inventory and cost accounting methods and actively work with others to improve data analytics, business processes and system reporting

  • Monthly and quarterly close preparation including journal entries, account reconciliations, inventory OH and absorption analysis and interaction with external auditors

  • Ensure meaningful activity drivers and accurate overhead expense allocations to appropriate P&L lines (COGS, R&D or SG&A)

  • Analyze inventory E&O reserve requirements and evaluate initiatives for minimizing inventory risk

  • Manage the integration and integrity of inventory-related information from the outsourced 3PL provider into the Company’s ERP system

  • Assess 3PL standard operating procedures while establishing internal policies and procedures for inventory controls, cycle counting and inventory reserves

 

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in an accounting or finance role demonstrating strong technical and analytical skills, good presentation skills and effective managerial capabilities
  • Specific experience with inventory accounting and supply chain operations, preferably in biotech/pharmaceutical companies with at least one commercial product
  • Proven track record of success working cross functionally in a collaborative environment
  • Self-starter, innovative and critical thinker, ability to develop and drive business improving processes
  • Experience with SAP and BPC a plus
  • Experience managing an outside 3PL service provider a plus

 

 

Education:

  • Bachelors or equivalent degree required; concentration in a financial discipline
  • CPA, CMA or MBA strongly preferred
