Position description:

Leadership role responsible for coordinating all aspects/details required to ensure effective execution of corporate/field/brand strategy and tactics.

This position reports to the Vice President, Sales.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure excellence in field force execution
  • Plan/direct all administration, financial, and operational activities for the Sales & Sales Excellence function
  • Organize/prioritize critical sales issues across all functional areas, including sales leadership, brand, external partners, training/development, and sales operations with the objective of facilitating efficient decision making and coordination of the IRWD selling effort/activities

  • Act a key member of the US Senior Sales Leadership team whose responsibility is to set sales strategy and align functions and optimize organizational performance

  • Provide strategic and tactical support as a part of the commercial management team;

  • Represent the field force on key cross functional projects with the objective of coordinating across all functional areas

  • Works across multiple functions (HR, Sales Leadership, Sales Operations, Marketing, Commercial Operations, etc..) to build/coordinate the detailed plan to ensure the field force ability to implement brand/corporate tactics

  • Provide oversight and guidance to ad hoc projects of high importance

  • Working with Finance and respective business owners, manage/monitor field force, training & development and sales operations budgets

  • Assist in the sales planning cycle development with marketing and sales business partners across all US partners and Ironwood.  As needed, coordinates planning activities with other functions and stakeholders across Ironwood.

  • Coordinate all sales leadership meetings/agenda

  • Design and develop a functional budget planning process and tools to enable commercial sales excellence

  • Proactively identifies opportunities for sales process improvement

  • Works closely with sales management to inspect sales process quality and prioritize opportunities for improvement. Assists sales management in understanding process bottlenecks and inconsistencies. Facilitates a commercial organization of continuous process improvement.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree.  MBA a plus.

  • 5+ years of managerial/consulting experience (Experience in pharmaceutical sales, sales management, sales operations and/or marketing a plus)

  • Working knowledge of the pharma industry

  • Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills

  • Ability to communicate and build relationships at all levels within the organization

  • Ability to manage multiple non-connected projects and prioritize time/activities

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, & especially, PowerPoint

  • Excellent interpersonal skills/strong communication skills.

  • Some limited travel (<10%)
