Chicago Public Media is one of the nation’s largest and most respected NPR-member organizations and is home to WBEZ 91.5 FM, Sound Opinions, and Vocalo. We serve a listening audience of almost 600,000 and broadcasts throughout Chicago and the surrounding regions. We have an innovative company culture and state-of-the-art facilities. In addition to studios at Navy Pier, we have reporters stationed at four neighborhood bureaus located in the Chicago area and Northwest Indiana.
We have an opportunity for a paid Marketing Intern. In this internship you will gain exposure to event marketing with an independent media organization. Interns will receive hands on experience with event planning, writing in a brand voice for social media, assisting with creating pitch decks and creating other event marketing materials (flyers, etc.). You will be involved with audience engagement events like our live podcast tapings and our annual Chef Battle. You will also receive mentorship from an energized and passionate team.
Preference will be given to students currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Marketing or PR program. Some knowledge with In-Design or Photoshop is a huge plus. We can tailor your internship experience to be more event planning or branding/engagement focused however you will get exposure to both.
- This is a paid internship, $12.00 an hour.
- Internship hours are part-time, 20 hours a week.
- The internship will start June 25, 2018 and last through December 14, 2018.
