About the role:

The Event Marketing and Audience Engagement Manager is a key position in the Membership and Marketing Department supporting the strategy, operations and marketing of Chicago Public Media events and audience engagement efforts. As the lead events marketing strategist, this position will play a hands-on role in executing all aspects of WBEZ’s event marketing campaigns – from developing marketing creative and writing creative briefs, to providing creative feedback and launching and measuring event marketing outcomes. This position works closely with departments across the organization to develop engaged audiences for our live events portfolio and to create compelling marketing materials consistent with Chicago Public Media’s mission. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the nuances of social media as well as traditional marketing strategies to ensure a cohesive and engaging experience for WBEZ listeners and members. This person will also project manage workflows, develop creative and marketing plans, track event audience engagement metrics to achieve event goals and objectives.  

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain knowledge of dynamic marketing strategies and tactics
  • Development of multiplatform event marketing plans
  • Development of event marketing creative and management of design process for event visuals
  • Project management of cross-functional teamwork throughout the event marketing process
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure a cohesive brand experience
  • Creation and presentation of promotional recaps to key internal stakeholders, underwriting staff and clients
  • Implementation and execution of all event promotions

 

Qualifications & Education:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of event marketing and promotions experience
  • Bachelor’s in marketing, advertising or communication or equivalent training and professional experience
  • Experience writing, editing and measuring the effectiveness of marketing communications
  • Proven team leader with results oriented focus
  • Excellent analytical, written and oral communication & presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and deliverable deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Knowledge of web design and video editing a plus
  • Positive attitude and driven to optimize results
  • Exceptional problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work a flexible schedule (including evenings and weekends) to facilitate on-site activation of events and sponsorships
