They are currently seeking a Human Capital Manager in Springfield, VA.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Human Capital Manager is responsible for advancing the strategic objectives and growth of a talented and diverse workforce for organizational excellence. This individual builds awareness and preference for our client by enhancing, managing, and administering first-rate human capital processes including recruitment, selection, onboarding, orientation, performance management, employee relations, individual and leadership development, reward, recognition, compensation and benefits, health and safety, diversity, retention, succession planning and regulatory compliance programs.

The role of the Human Capital Manager requires direct experience for the full scope of human resources activities for a growing company operating in a rapidly changing and competitive market. Reporting to the President of our client, this position involves hands-on development and implementation of effective campaigns to build our human capital, as well as supervisory responsibilities to manage our client’s Human Resources team. It is a highly visible role that requires the ability to effectively collaborate with and foster an environment of positive and proactive employee relations consistent with the firm’s core values and policies.

The Human Capital Manager also will be responsible for the following:

  • Working collaboratively across the company, assessing and anticipating HR-related needs; developing creative solutions in line with business objectives; providing strategic guidance on implementation of necessary changes
  • Providing guidance and coaching to managers and leaders on the delivery of talent acquisition needs, managing employee performance, compensation programs, including annual salary planning, incentive compensation and special awards programs
  • Facilitating workforce planning and development activities such as succession management, high potential identification and training and development needs
  • Providing strategic guidance on internal change management; serving as an advisor for changes impacting human capital
  • Working with employees, managers, and leaders to create a culture that supports firm growth and evolution
  • Establishing and measuring human capital metrics to analyze and recommend areas for process improvement. Leading change management initiatives, proactively identify opportunities for improvement and providing solutions to organizational challenges
  • Devise and implement the retention strategy to meet the needs of the business. Partner with organizational leaders to identify and establish career path opportunities for all employees

 

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent years of experience. Preferred field of study in Human Resources
  • A minimum of ten plus years of progressive Human Resources management
  • 5 years of supervisor/leadership experience required.  Experience must include hands-on responsibility for the full scope of human resources activities
  • Demonstrated ability to handle employee relations at all levels of staff
  • Demonstrated ability to support large staff unit
  • A comprehensive understanding of HR principles and in-depth knowledge of employment laws and regulations
  • Strong focus on client service and responsiveness and strong project and time management skills
  • Proven ability to relate on a conceptual and practical level, the objectives and drivers of the company

 

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Experience with federal government contractor laws and reporting requirements
  • Experience with various employee types such as, part-time, internships, union, and SCA employees
  • Experience overseeing other functions of an HR Department

 

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent years of experience. Preferred field of study in Human Resources
