Software Engineer,  CME Direct

CME Group, the world's leading and most diverse derivatives marketplace, seeks experienced senior C# developers to build and maintain its CME Direct trading platform. CME Direct is a cutting edge futures and options trading platform that provides access to both exchange traded and OTC markets. The role is 100% hands-on coding, though senior architects will also be involved in analysis, feasibility and design. The successful candidate will have a demonstrable track record of developing scalable, distributed, real-time systems from scratch; and should have a reasonable understanding of financial markets, trading processes and systems.

Responsibilities:
• System design
• Writing high quality code that satisfies customer requirements
• Developing and effecting unit tests
• Ensuring system performs under required load to pre-defined standards of performance, availability, and reliability (e.g. through high quality system design, and developing automated tests and instrumentation to certify system performance, identify bottlenecks, and isolate root cause of outliers)
• Participating in requirements gathering and analysis
• Ensuring code standards and quality
• Advising and guiding other team members
• Occasional interaction with customers
• Identify areas of code that need re-writing and working with team members to implement re-work

Qualifications and Experience:
• Experience with core C#, .NET and WinForms
• Experience in an object-oriented language
• OO, design patterns, multithreading, data structures
• MS SQL Server, SQL, simple DBA and troubleshooting skills
• Familiarity with Nant, Spring, third party libraries such as Syncfusion, DevExpress, CodeSmith
• Minimum 2:1 BSc/BS
