Job Summary:

Are you passionate about data and uncovering their underlying meaning?  Do you enjoy working in tools such as R, SAP BI, Tableau, etc?  Are you excited about improving operational uptime, increasing productivity, and helping to reduce customer impacting issues and outages?  If so, consider this the opportunity for you!

CME Group Infrastructure and Operations is looking for a junior level data scientist to help us mine the terabytes of data we have gathered in our operational processing and ITIL processes.  We are looking for a driven, self-sufficient individual who can help us to identify trends and leading indicators in our data to help prevent outages, drive root cause, and help our leadership make informed, risk-based decisions on change execution.



  • Strong mathematics / statistics background, and the ability to apply these to find meaning in large data sets.
  • A basic understanding of a statistical programming language such as R or Python.
  • A strong team player, with the ability to effectively communicate both technical facts and the underlying meaning behind them.
  • Strong technical and analytical abilities, being able to reason through issues, and develop solutions independently.
  • The ability to recognize patterns, and develop algorithms to detect related / similar issues in new, real-time data sets.
  • Experience with data collection, analyses, and reporting tools such as Splunk, Oracle DB, SAP BI, Tableau
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 1 to 3+ Years of Related Experience
