Job Summary:
The Director - Social Media will be responsible for management of the day-to-day messaging, monitoring and moderation of CME Group owned social media platforms including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Snapchat, Weibo and WeChat. They will also proactively engage consumers across non-owned social platforms to insert the CME Group brand in relevant conversation to drive brand engagement. Additionally, they will monitor, interpret and share insights and analytics with key stakeholders to inform on-going strategic optimizations.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of a global social marketing strategy as it relates to messaging, engagement and content across multiple social media platforms. 

  • Oversee the recruitment, implementation and management of social media vendor relationships and tools to ensure that business objectives are met, performance is outlined, and outputs are measurable.  

  • Play an active role in listening to and monitoring social conversations across our channels and within the social space to garner insights that will help optimize social marketing strategies; act as a resource for these insights and share across the organization.  

  • Assume accountability and ownership of paid social campaign execution including: strategy, set-up, testing, QA, audience targeting, bid strategies and ad performance reporting.  

  • Support the execution of social activations, including liaising with influencers, and social strategic partners.  

  • Cultivate a metrics-based approach to measure effectiveness of paid and earned social media to produce actionable insights leveraging advanced measurement tools, such as multi-touch attribution and internal data warehouse, and manage pixels/data integration on behalf of both the internal media team and agency partners.  

  • Oversee, coach, develop and manage subordinates effectively.  

Skills & Software Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of social media marketing experience in developing and executing global social media strategies and campaigns that drive referral traffic, community engagement and customer loyalty.
