Purpose of the role :

The Global Assurance (GA) Manager will -

  • Manage internal audits and special reviews.
  • Conduct reviews to provide assurance regarding the existence & effectiveness of financial, operational, and/or technological internal controls.
  • Plan audit assignments in accordance with GA departmental & accepted professional standards, prepares reports for management communicating the audit results including solutions to mitigate risk and provide guidance to team members.
  • Operational & administrative support to the Senior Director of UK Global Assurance.


Principal Accountabilities:

  • Ensure that each audit is effectively planned, coordinated and reported upon. This includes designing audits to assure the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, verifying compliance with corporate policies and procedures and identifying opportunities to enhance operating efficiencies and/or reduce costs. Also, includes directing and reviewing work to ensure GA and standards of Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) are met.
  • Preparing well written audit reports.
  • Assist in hiring, acclimation and training of other Global Assurance team members (including any team members from co-sourced Partners).
  • Develop a customer base and establish positive rapport with Global Assurance's internal and external customers; initial focus will be on CME Bangalore and Asia offices.
  • Co-ordinate & interface with co-sourced Partners in the Asia region (Grant Thornton India).
  • Develop Global Assurance best practices/standards and audit plans.
  • Report audit observations to management and ensure management develops acceptable solutions to mitigate risks.
  • Assist in remediation tracking of audit observations and plan follow-up work to ensure adequate remediation of gaps by management.
  • Provide ongoing feedback, coaching, education and direction to GA staff. Ensure that the staff maintains an acceptable level of productivity and quality. This includes effectively utilizing the Performance Management Process to establish clear and relevant performance as well as professional development expectations. Conduct midyear check-ins and year-end assessments as prescribed by CME Group Human Resources


Skills & Software Requirements:

  • Solid Audit and Risk Management experience, minimum of 8 years is required.
  • Suitable qualifications / certifications including first / advanced degrees, accounting (e.g. Chartered), internal auditing (e.g. IIA) and fraud (e.g. ACFE).
  • Proficiency in English, effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience of Microsoft Professional Office Applications, including MS PowerPoint and Visio. Prior use of Data Analysis tools (ACL, Business Objects, MS Access) and Teammate or similar electronic work paper tools is desirable, but not required.
  • Candidates with financial services/investment banking Industry experience is preferred.
