The Order Entry team, which is part of the Trade Execution Systems department, develops and supports mission critical applications for the Globex trading platform. The team works on high performance, low latency applications that are gateways to the customers trading on Globex and process millions of messages every day. Using the latest in development and testing processes, we build applications that are of the highest quality and reliability. We are looking for individuals who enjoy being part of a great team and have a curious mind, to join us in continuing to deliver applications and features that enhance our customers’ trading experience at CME.
The Order Entry team is a highly cohesive team of developers, SETs (Software Engineer in Test) and QA Analysts. The individual joining the team in a Software Engineer I position, will work closely with the SETs and application developers to makes applications more testable by developing software to support testing efforts. This requires good development skills and an ability to interface efficiently with all the support groups, other QA groups, and other development groups and working independently, with some oversight. The individual must also exhibit quick learning capabilities in picking up and mastering new concepts--business, technical and process oriented.
• Develops and implements designs for automated testing framework.
• Develops software for making APIs more testable.
• Works with Sr and Lead developers and SETs in implementing automation opportunities and overcoming testability challenges.
Qualifications and Skill Set:
• Bachelors Degree: Information Technology (Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical and Computer Engineering).
• Prior experience using source management systems (e.g. GIT) is required.
• Knowledge of core Java, algorithms and software design principles is required.
• Experience/knowledge of SQL and any inter application messaging concepts is a plus.
• Knowledge of any open source ATTD frameworks like FIT/FITnesse, Cucumber, Jbehave. Messaging would be a plus.
