This per diem position works “as needed” to cover PTO; there are no guaranteed hours

As a per diem, Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS) Pharmacy Technician,  you’ll assist in various pharmacy activities, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, and other duties not requiring the review of a pharmacist. The majority of tasks and responsibilities are related to preparing, dispensing, and distributing medications. Other duties include maintaining patient records, and setting up, packaging, and labeling of medication doses and billing. You will perform job duties under minimal supervision within pharmacy standards, written procedures and guidelines, and state regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for the accurate completion of daily activities and the follow through of tasks to ensure completion. 

About the f acility:  St. Luke’s Hospital at The Vintage is a 90-bed community hospital located in The Vintage, a 630-acre master-planned development in northwest Houston. The state-of-the-art hospital is part of CHI's, recognized by Fortune as among the “100 Best Companies to Work For.” Management of the pharmacy is outsourced to Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS). All Pharmacy staff are CPS employees. 

Required Qualifications: 

  • HS Diploma or GED required
  • Certified pharmacy technician with TX licensure, PTCB is preferred
  • IV certification
  • 2 years recent pharmacy technician experience in an inpatient hospital setting preferred
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated customer services skills

Important Notification :   CHI St. Luke’s Hospitals, require all Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS) employees to meet vaccine and immunization requirements  prior  to starting work in the Pharmacy. If you accept an offer of employment from CPS you will be required to present copies of the following records  to Hire Right  (our background check provider) before you start work.   If you do not have copies of these records, Hire Right will send you instructions on how to obtain the necessary requirements.

  • (PPD) TB Skin Test - Proof of NEGATIVE Tb skin test within the last 12 months
  • (MMR) Measles, Mumps and Rubella - - TWO (2) documented doses…OR…A Blood Titer proving immunity
  • (Chickenpox) Varicella - TWO (2)  documented doses…OR…A Blood Titer proving immunity
  • (Tdap) Tetanus/Diphtheria, Pertussis
  • (Flu) Influenza-required for hire between Oct 1st-April 30th
  • Hepatitis B – (not required; highly preferred) THREE (3) documented
  • FIT testing (respiratory mask)
