Full-Time Director of Pharmacy
Brentwood Hospital, Shreveport, LA

As a Staffing Director of Pharmacy with Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS
), you will oversee all pharmacy operations at Brentwood Hospital, including planning, organizing, controlling, and supervising activities, according to hospital policies, standards of practice of the profession, and state and federal laws. In this role you are the main Pharmacist and act as the Pharmacist in Charge.  You will recommend innovations in the practice and function of the pharmacy to hospital administration and carry out mutually agreed upon programs. You will lead a staff of 8 pharmacy employees.  As a Director of Pharmacy with CPS you will also have a full support team available to you including a Regional VP, a host of Clinical, Finance, Regulatory, Drug Information Directors, Purchasing Specialists  and more.  This position is primarily Monday-Friday with on call.

About the Facility:    Brentwood Hospital is a 200-bed psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment facility that offers psychiatric services for children, adolescents, adults and seniors. At Brentwood, we strive to revitalize lives through compassion and innovative care.  Serving Louisiana, east Texas and south Arkansas for more than 44 years, Brentwood Hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission and is certified and approved by  TRICARE® ,  Medicare  and  Medicaid .   The pharmacy is open Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm and weekends from 8am-2pm.  All staff in the pharmacy are employed by CPS with the management of the pharmacy being outsourced to CPS.

Qualifications:

  • Pharmacy degree (BS or PharmD)
  • Current LA  license in good standing
  • 3 years recent Pharmacist experience; with some experience as a lead or supervisory role
  • Ability to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond to client concerns
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other members of CPS and hospital and pharmacy staff
