PHARMACY TECHNICIAN – PER DIEM
ST. LUKE’S THE WOODLANDS HOSPITAL
THE WOODLANDS, TX

**This position has no regularly scheduled hours and provides coverage as needed for time off of existing staff.**

As a per diem Pharmacy Technician with Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS) at St. Luke's The Woodlands Hospital, you will assist in various pharmacy activities under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Your responsibilities will include preparing, delivering, and restocking medications; performing order entry; procuring drugs; billing; and auditing patient records. You will carry out your job duties according to written procedures and guidelines based on pharmacy standards and regulatory requirements. 

About the Facility:   St. Luke’s The Woodlands Hospital, a 242-private-bed, nonprofit hospital, is part of CHI St. Luke's Health System. Its state-of-the-art facilities include an emergency department, newborn and infant nurseries, diagnostic imaging services, and labor and delivery rooms. St. Luke s The Woodlands Hospital has been named to the list of the 100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare by Modern Healthcare magazine. Management of the pharmacy is outsourced to Comprehensive Pharmacy Services. 

Required Qualifications: 

  • HS Diploma or GED required
  • TX pharmacy technician licensure required; national certification (CPhT) by PTCB preferred
  • At least 6 months of hospital  work experience as a Pharmacy Technician
  • IV certified required
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

Please note:CHI St. Luke’s Hospitals, require all Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS) employees to meet vaccine and immunization requirements prior to starting work in the Pharmacy. If you accept an offer of employment from CPS you will be required to present copies of the following records to Hire Right (our background check provider) before you start work.   If you do not have copies of these records, Hire Right will send you instructions on how to obtain the necessary requirements.

  • (PPD) TB Skin Test - Proof of NEGATIVE Tb skin test within the last 12 months
  • (MMR) Measles, Mumps and Rubella - - TWO (2) documented doses…OR…A Blood Titer proving immunity
  • (Chickenpox) Varicella - TWO (2)  documented doses…OR…A Blood Titer proving immunity
  • (Tdap) Tetanus/Diphtheria, Pertussis
  • (Flu) Influenza-required for hire between Oct 1st-April 30th
  • Hepatitis B – (not required; highly preferred) THREE (3) documented doses…OR…a Blood Titer proving reactive status
