Director of Pharmacy

As a Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS) Director of Pharmacy you will  have a full support team available to you, from a Regional Vice President, Clinical Regional Vice President, Regulatory Specialist, Purchasing Analyst, and more.  We will rely on you to direct all pharmacy operations, including planning, organizing, controlling, and staff management activities, according to hospital policies, standards of practice of the profession, and State and Federal laws.  You will recommend innovations in the practice and function of the hospital pharmacy to Administration and carry out mutually agreed upon programs. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Pharmacy Degree (BS or PharmD) from an accredited school of pharmacy
  • CA licensure in good standing
  • Minimum 3 years of hospital pharmacy management experience in an inpatient setting
  • Ability to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond to client concerns
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other members of CPS and hospital and pharmacy staff

College Medical Center (formerly Pacific Hospital of Long Beach), with 221 beds, with 221 beds, is a teaching hospital with behavioral health units onsite and at two satellite locations. The hospital is fully accredited by DNV.  The Pharmacy is open 24/7. Automation includes Omnicell and EHR/CPOE with Cerner Millenium.  The pharmacy is managed by Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS) and the Director of Pharmacy and the Clinical Coordinator are CPS employees. All other employees are hospital employees.
